They have great cuddly names for the types of updates they make. This one is being referred to as Google Penguin Update 2.0. Penguin 2.0 is all about Google’s ongoing attempts to remove webspam. Like the spam emails that fill your inbox and waste your time, spammy websites can clog the search results and keep you from finding the information, services and products you are searching for.
What does this mean for you? If you have links from sites that Google determines are spammy / automated / junk then your ranking would have been affected by the update between May 21st and May 22nd.
The result for Toronto SEO group clients? Our clients benefited greatly from this update!
The luckiest of our clients, a new client, seen an increase of 232 positions across 10 keywords – thats huge!
Now its not really luck, Google is getting better at determining the value of inbound links to your website. We are very happy in the office today because this update is a bit of a nod to the good work we do here – justification for doing it right.
Below I have a few screenshots of the ranking graph increases.
Manufacturing Site – Toronto Canada – 25 tracked keywords
New Lawyer Site – Toronto Canada – 20 tracked keywords
Luxury Product – Santa Monica California – 40 tracked keywords
Fitness Website – Oakville Ontario – 20 Tracked Keywords
As always we appreciate your business and are working diligently to ensure that changes by Google positively impact your business.
